Creating a Template

Templates let you define a reusable document structure so you can send the same file for signatures multiple times without re-uploading or reconfiguring it each time.

Prerequisites

  • You have a PDF document ready to upload
  • You are logged in to your Blank Sign account
1

Go to the Templates page

Navigate to Dashboard > Templates. You will see the Templates section, which lists all your existing templates.
2

Open the new template form

Click the New button or navigate directly to the new template page. The page will prompt you to upload a PDF to get started.
3

Upload your PDF

Click the file upload area and select your PDF document from your computer. Blank Sign will process the file and automatically populate the template title based on the file name.
4

Set the template title

In the Title field, review the auto-filled name or type a new one — for example, E2E Template — to make the template easy to identify later.
5

Review the default role

Once the PDF is uploaded, Blank Sign automatically adds a default Role (signer) to the template. Confirm that the Role or Signer entry appears on the page before continuing.
The template title is auto-filled from your PDF file name. You can change it at any time before saving.
Every template requires at least one Role assigned to it. Roles define who will be asked to sign when the template is used to send a document.
