Simplified and Advanced Mode
Blank ERP offers two interface modes — Simplified and Advanced — that control which sections and navigation links appear in the sidebar. This guide walks you through checking the default mode, switching between modes, and understanding what changes in each.Prerequisites
- You have access to System Settings in Blank ERP
New installations default to Simplified mode. In this mode, advanced sections such as POS, Manufacturing, Reports, Integrations, and Workflow are hidden from the sidebar, along with many advanced menu items. You can still access advanced pages by navigating to them directly via their URLs — the mode only affects sidebar visibility.
Simplified Mode
In Simplified mode, the sidebar shows only the most commonly used links. The following items are always visible in Simplified mode: Dashboard, Sales Invoice, Purchase Invoice, Payment Entry, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Customer, Supplier, Item, Warehouse, and System Settings.Advanced Mode
In Advanced mode, all sidebar sections and items become visible, including:- Sections: POS, Manufacturing, Reports, Integrations, Workflow
- Items (examples): Chart of Accounts, Journal Entry, Sales Order, Purchase Order, Stock Entry, Delivery Note, Roles, and many more
How to Switch Modes
1
Go to System Settings
Navigate to Settings > System Settings using the sidebar, or go directly to
/app/settings/system.2
Locate the ERP Mode switch
On the System Settings page, find the ERP Mode card at the top. The current mode is displayed next to the toggle switch — it will read either Simplified or Advanced.
3
Toggle the mode
Click the toggle switch to change the mode. The label next to the switch will update immediately to reflect your selection — Simplified or Advanced.
4
Save your changes
Click the Save button to apply the change. A confirmation notification will appear at the bottom of the screen once the setting has been saved successfully.
5
Verify the sidebar has updated
Navigate to the Dashboard. Expand any collapsed sidebar sections by clicking their headers, then confirm that the sidebar reflects the mode you selected.
- In Simplified mode, advanced sections like Manufacturing and Integrations will no longer appear.
- In Advanced mode, all sections and items will be visible.
Mode changes apply system-wide and persist across sessions. If you are part of a team, be aware that changing this setting may affect the sidebar experience for other users on the same system.
