Processing Payroll

This guide walks you through setting up an earning component, reviewing salary structures, and processing a payroll run in Blank HR.

Prerequisites

  • You have access to the Payroll module
  • At least one employee exists in your system
1

Open the Payroll dashboard

Navigate to Payroll from the main dashboard. Confirm the Payroll overview page loads before continuing.
2

Create an earning component

Go to Payroll > Components and click Add Component to open the component dialog.
  • In the Name field, enter the name of the earning component (for example, Housing Allowance).
  • In the Amount field, enter the monetary value (for example, 500).
Click Save (or the confirm button in the dialog) to create the component.
Earning components represent fixed or recurring additions to an employee’s pay, such as allowances or bonuses. You can create as many components as your payroll structure requires.
3

Review salary structures

Navigate to Payroll > Structures and verify that your salary structures are listed. This page shows all defined pay structures that earning components can be attached to.
If you don’t see any structures, you may need to create one before processing payroll. Salary structures define how components are grouped and applied to employees.
4

Process payroll

Navigate to Payroll > Process. Click the Process button to initiate the payroll run.Wait for the page to confirm that payroll has been processed. You should see a confirmation message on the screen once the run completes.
Processing payroll may take a few moments depending on the number of employees and components involved. Do not navigate away from the page until the confirmation appears.
Run payroll at the end of each pay period. Make sure all earning components and salary structures are up to date before clicking Process to avoid discrepancies in employee pay.
