Creating and Submitting a Quotation

This guide walks you through creating a new sales quotation, adding line items, and submitting it for approval in the Selling module.

Prerequisites

  • At least one customer exists in your system
  • At least one item exists in your inventory
1

Open the Quotations list

Navigate to Selling > Quotation. The quotation list view will load, displaying all existing quotations.
2

Create a new quotation

Click the New button at the top of the list. The New Quotation form will open.
3

Enter the customer

In the Customer field, type the name of the customer for this quotation (for example, E2E Test Customer). Select the matching customer from the suggestions that appear.
4

Add line items

In the items table, locate the first empty row and fill in the following fields:
  • Item Name — enter the name of the product or service (for example, Widget A)
  • Quantity — enter the number of units (for example, 5)
  • Rate — enter the unit price (for example, 200)
Add additional rows as needed for each item you want to include in the quotation.
5

Save the quotation

Click the Save button. A confirmation notification will appear briefly to confirm the quotation has been saved successfully.
6

Submit the quotation

Click the Submit button to finalize the quotation. If a confirmation dialog appears, click Submit (or Confirm / Yes) to proceed. The quotation status will update to Submitted.
Quotations follow a document lifecycle. A newly created quotation starts in Draft status and is fully editable. Once you click Submit, the quotation is locked and can no longer be edited directly.
You can also open the new quotation form directly by navigating to /app/selling/quotation/new, which skips the list view and takes you straight to a blank form.
