Creating and Submitting a Quotation

This guide walks you through creating a new sales quotation, adding line items, and submitting it for fulfillment.

Prerequisites

  • At least one customer exists in your system (e.g., the customer you plan to quote)
  • At least one item exists in your item catalog
1

Open the new quotation form

Navigate to Selling > Quotation and click the New button, or go directly to the new quotation form from your address bar. The form will open with a blank New Quotation ready to fill in.
2

Enter the customer

In the Customer field, type the name of the customer you are creating the quotation for (for example, “E2E Test Customer”). Select the correct customer from the suggestions that appear.
3

Add a line item

In the items table, locate the first row and enter the item name in the text field — for example, Widget A. Fill in the quantity (5) and the unit price (200) in the corresponding number fields on the same row.
4

Save the quotation

Click the Save button to save your quotation as a draft. A confirmation notification will appear briefly at the bottom of the screen to confirm the record was saved successfully.
5

Reopen the quotation from the list

Navigate to Selling > Quotation to view the quotations list. Click on the row for the quotation you just created to open it.
6

Submit the quotation

Click the Submit button. If a confirmation dialog appears, click Submit, Confirm, or Yes to proceed. The quotation status will update to Submitted.
Quotations follow a document lifecycle: they begin in Draft status after saving and move to Submitted status after you confirm the submission. A submitted quotation is finalized and visible to downstream processes such as sales orders.
You can add multiple line items to a single quotation by filling in additional rows in the items table before clicking Save.
